Texting and DRIVING!!! you can live without a cellphone I promise. I've been doing it for 4yrs. You can also live without reading your email, FB or MSN until you stop your car. The world wont end.
Thing that will happen while you are being Aware:
The car will drive straighter and stay in your own lane.
You will notice more people walking in or out of cross walks before they land under or over your car.
You will notice the person pulling out of their driveway into traffic.
You will notice that Driver from the not quite like the rest of us province cutting you off because well there was a cm clearance.
You will notice how fast your Speedometer says you are going and the sign that said you were in a certain speed zone.
You will notice the idiot in the other car is texting and not paying attention.,
You will hear your kids talking to you from the back seat or your spouse sitting right beside you.
You will notice that MOOSE on the side of the road heading for your car.
Please notice what you are doing and not what the person that's on the other side of your phone is doing. Look up and Look about please. I might be driving out there.

I sooo agree with you! There are some people who scare me even when they don't have a cell phone in their hand. Focus people.
It's scaring the crap out of me. I see it ALL the time!
If you miss a moose, you're definitely distracted. Jeez.
I know exactly!! This was one of those "not found in a dumpster" kind of Moose we get here in the EAST. :)
I'm amazed daily, it doesn't make me want to go on my trip to the Island this summer at all.
They've banned it here in BC.

Ugh, it bugs me when people text and drive! How reckless can you get? I have friends who do that and I'm always terrified when I'm in the car with them. It's the worst.
Isn't that crazy?! As if just talking on the phone isn't dangerous enough! Texting is much worse...

We were just talking about this in a Mom's group I recently joined. One of the ladies was almost ru off the road, when she looks over a "20-something" was still texting like nothing happen.
I remember when I was learning to drive and they would get upset if we thought to turn the radio on while driving. When I took my driving test? we weren't allowed to have the radio on,they would take us out the driveway, to the street and ask us to pull back into the parking space and say "done you fail".
