Catholic Guilt Revisited

Some of you may remember back in March? Let me find it. here Where I talked about my disappointment in myself and my lack of regular mass going. Well this week was no different. This Sunday I went alone! It felt great, it was uplifting but you know? I missed my kids. It was also Sign up week for Religion Classes (Sunday School) so I signed all 3 of them up.
There was a lot of "new" going on in mass this week. The church opened a new Website (no I'm not linking there), and they held the sign ups, and the priest made a huge effort to encourage everyone to be a part of the parish. It's impressive. I like my priest. He's nice, he's friendly and he's "with it". So they're talking of taking the Altar off the "stage" haha (Altar off the Altar?) and moving it down into the parish, with the chairs. We have individual chairs for our pews. It's nice because you can move your chair out of the line or shift a bit so your kids can see. So his new idea is with the Altar down in the seating area, we are part of the mass; and he is part of the parish.
On the way out of mass I had 1 question... Where do we genuflect then if you move the Altar? He said "we haven't genuflected in years, since I was a child" interesting I said because uh all of The Island is still Genuflecting when entering pews or going up onto the altar. Small changes take time it seems. I guess that's what we will find this coming week.
With the boys all signed up, we will be trying to get to the early mass. Another plus? this is 1hour between mass 1 and mass 2 where I'm home alone with Hubbie? I wonder if I should be Thanking God for this one?

I put this post over here because it's ME that wants the Catholic Mass in  our lives. Hubbie isn't at all interested, and that's a bit difficult.  1 mom and 3 boys is hard enough when Dad doesn't want to be there either? It's really difficult.

What's your favorite autumn desert?

 So I read her answer and she's talking all kinds of APPLE PIE! and then it came to me, Loaves! I love love love loaves. Apple walnut loaf? Yummy. And just because I wont leave you hanging here all cravish? I'm going to print out a recipe.. yummy!

1/4 apple sauce, 

1/4 cup softened margerine ,or butter (I'm on a budget.. I use margerine)

2 Eggs,

vanilla 1tsp

1 cup sugar (3/4 cup works too)

1 Cup Grated Apple (with or without peelings, if you  have braces? unpeeled)

2 Cups of Flour, I can replace 1/2cup of that with whole wheat, no one notices... shhhh)

1tsp baking powder

1/2 tsp baking soda (hahah almost put in the sofa)

1/2 tsp salt 

and 1/2 cup of chopped walnuts (or not) 

Mix and shove in the oven on 350F for an 50-60minutes, but I usually have good luck with 61minutes. a toothpick or Kabob stick make s good tester.

VGNO, Home with Littlest Dude Cheap Week.

So it's Saturday and I'm sitting here with Littlest Dude MJ he's sick. :( He started out the day with a bit of a bug in his belly, but after some Gravol (Dramamine to those in the USA) he's feeling much better. We went BBQing and Beaching Lastnight. The water was wonderful, but I stayed ashore with the BBQ and the towels and I was on duty as warm hugger.

The boys had a great time. I did too. Today Hubbie took TJ and AJ out with him and some friends back to the beach. I'm manning the house, so what better excuse for a VGNO then being HOME! Also i'm BBQing Supper between my typing. Yep posting on the fly. That's me!

Since I'm BBQing and talking about food, I should offer you up something? Tonight its salad and some small and cheap Steaks. I marinaded them today with the recipe off the McCormicks, Montreal Steak spice. Oil, soysauce, and Montreal Steak spice. Moosh moosh moosh a few times while it was sitting in the fridge in a zipper bag. The fridge smalls like Montreal Steak Spice. I wonder though where did they get that name?



How about some drinks? Again it's on the cheap here, Powdered Peach Juice from the local Grocery store and water from the tap. The boys tell me this stuff is AWESOME? (my brain knows better so it might be a bit weak, hehe )


well I guess that just leaves the music... let me see... Trooper is coming to town in September. Do you think if I mention them enough, they might (even without being listed in the great Googly) find me? and give me free tickets?

Seeing A theme here? Cheap. Some Free internet games?


Maybe I shouldn't be allowed to Party this heavily?Where did I put that Rum... yeah Rum and Grocerystore Brand Soda it is. diet of course...
